We have a few staff who are certificated but work only a few hours a week, generally in the Exploratory program which is 45 minutes three times a week, plus prep. We also have non Certificated people who teach exploratories. I did not plan to put any of them on Covenants, but rather work agreements. Is this OK? If so, what would be the most a person could work before having to be put on a covenant?
Generally, here are the guidelines:
If an employee is expected to attend teacher meetings and inservices, they should be on a covenant.
If they are only teaching a couple classes per week and will only be working those prescripted hours, they should be on a work agreement.
If you need more clarity, please call us to go over your specific situation.
Thanks,
Krista
