Special song pays musical tribute to educators, past and present
No birthday party would be complete without a song. And celebrants this Saturday at the Catholic Schools’ 150th Jubilee Festival will go beyond “Happy Birthday” to sing a song especially written for the occasion.
“Legacy,” by Michael Lynch, music teacher at Christ the King School in Seattle, pays tribute to all the teachers and parents over the past century-and-a-half who’ve instilled the faith in the children.
As Lynch’s song says in part:
From the mountains to the sea, All across this verdant land
You have shared the word of Jesus, You have shared his loving plan
You have shone the light on darkness as a beacon in the night
With the fire of the Spirit you have kept it burning bright.
