Update from the Catholic Schools Superintendent Search Committee
On behalf of Archbishop J. Peter Sartain and the Catholic Schools Superintendent Search Committee, I am pleased to announce the finalists for the position of Catholic Schools Superintendent: Brother William Dygert, C.S.C., Ph.D., who currently serves as the Superintendent of Schools in the Diocese of Peoria, Illinois, and Rev. Stephen C. Rowan, Ph.D., who currently serves as the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Portland, Oregon.
Each candidate has agreed to a daylong visit to the Archdiocese to meet with Catholic schools leadership and other Archdiocesan leaders. Father Stephen Rowan will meet with leadership on Monday, March 19 and Brother William Dygert will meet with leadership on April 2.
The Archbishop is very grateful to these highly qualified individuals for their willingness to share their vast experience and expertise with our Archdiocese and their generosity for participating in this process. He also extends his appreciation to the members of the Search Committee for identifying these excellent candidates. The Archbishop plans to make a final determination and appointment by mid-April.
Sincerely,
Dennis J. O'Leary
Chair, Catholic Schools Superintendent Search Committee
