Good News from the Missions Office - October 2011

Included in this issue: (We usually don’t have a “theme” but if there is one for this issue, it might be “food security” or “hunger”.) We work to include updated and other items of interest on our website. E.g Respect Life Month and Hunger item: First Fridays Fast for Food Security (note the October 7 Facebook event for those in your social media network).

JustFaith contacts (and for Vincentians as well): Please remember to register with us soon for the October 29 event on Prison Reform/Prison Ministry!

Rice Bowl contacts: The number of schools and parishes applying for and receiving CRS/Rice Bowl grants for starting or developing a vegetable garden on their properties is increasing each year. And so now we provide grants before and during Lent for these efforts. If your community might want to go down this “row” please contact us. We don’t “weed” out anyone for lack of start-up funds.
