Attached is the October edition of our Good News newsletter. It is also available now online: www.seattlearchdiocese.org/Missions
Included in this issue: (We usually don’t have a “theme” but if there is one for this issue, it might be “food security” or “hunger”.) An “On earth as it is in heaven” litany; a sampling of upcoming events and time-dated resources; World Mission Sunday October 23; the federal budget and foreign assistance; facts about fair trade; Catholic social teaching-related art contests; JustFaith interfaith resource; poetry and prayer; and even an item about the new Roman missal!
We work to include updated and other items of interest on our website. E.g Respect Life Month and Hunger item: First Fridays Fast for Food Security (note the October 7 Facebook event for those in your social media network).
JustFaith contacts (and for Vincentians as well): Please remember to register with us soon for the October 29 event on Prison Reform/Prison Ministry!
Rice Bowl contacts: The number of schools and parishes applying for and receiving CRS/Rice Bowl grants for starting or developing a vegetable garden on their properties is increasing each year. And so now we provide grants before and during Lent for these efforts. If your community might want to go down this “row” please contact us. We don’t “weed” out anyone for lack of start-up funds.
ALL: let us know if you have any requests or suggestions!
Grateful for your service,
your Missions Office staff
