• Missions Office: Good News Newsletter - Summer 2012

The Summer edition of our Good News newsletter is at the printer but also available now online: www.seattlearchdiocese.org/Missions

    Included in this issue:
A litany for justice, peace and salvation; a timely JustFaith resource; quotes and a prayer poem on economic justice; Rice Bowl grants notice; Rice Bowl info for 2013; August 6 and 9 anniversaries – Hiroshima and Nagasaki; an item on apples, cookies and…Bread of Life; CCGP (you’ll have to read through the newsletter to see what that stands for); a reprint of a Women’s Justice Circles article; and, as always, page two offers suggested resources.
~Also on our website are all issues for the past year, including Summer of 2011~

Rice Bowl: On page four are two items about the Rice Bowl program and grants. Our “Thanks” go to all of you who promoted and/or used the Lenten materials, prayed, fasted and donated. An update from the newsletter item: it appears that we will actually be up about 3% in donations from last year’s total giving. Grant checks will be going out within the next week or so. We might have some funds remaining – if your parish community is looking to till some unused land and create a vegetable garden for those in need – consider applying for a grant! (Perhaps that action will cause Summer to appear…)

    Grateful for your service,

    your Missions Office staff
