• Employee Portfolio (CSEP) Update

    Dear Principals and CSED Administrators,

On August 21, the CSD launched the Employee Portfolio (CSEP) system and have a deadline of December 21 for completion of the biographical data by all school employees.

    What you should do:

    • Log on to SCL. Click MySCL and choose the tool CS Employee Portfolio (CSEP). Please enter your own biographical data. (This is the Profile section in your Portfolio.) See Portfolio help file.
    • Encourage (or mandate) your employees to complete their Profile section in their Portfolio by Dec. 21, 2012. Although, we email them with instructions you should be prepared to answer questions about how to log in. See log in help file.

    Why mandate this:

    • Your employees will be giving you their most recent contact information.
    • You have 24/7 online access to these records.
    • In January 2013, this data will be used to generate the 2012- 2013 Service Awards recipient list for all schools.

Why employees should want to do this:

    • Employees will have the capability of editing their own biographical data and the ability to track future Professional Development, clock hours and Catechetical certification within this online system.
    • In the future, employees will have social networking after the Archdiocese issues guidelines.
    • Employees get the capability to locate employee names and emails, by grade and subject, across the archdiocese to foster professional networking.
    • Employees will be able to share and exchange curriculum information across the archdiocese.

    What you should know:

    • If an employee is unable (or refuses) to edit Profile data, you can enter their core biographical data for them as the administrator of the Employee Database (CSED).
    • Administrators (using CSED) are the only ones who can enter CICS dates, positions, roles, and FTE numbers.
    • Administrators can add, delete, or terminate any employee using CSED. (This automatically updates CSEP.) Keep your Employee List up to date.
    • Administrators cannot see any employee’s current password but you can set a new password for them. Alternately, you can send an email to them with their user name and a new random password via CSED (which you don't know).
    • A link to Database CSED/CSEP Admin Help files is found on the My SCL page under the heading Documents and Forms.
    • The Employee Portfolio system (CSEP) replaces the old Applitrack Portfolio system.
