Dear Life, Justice and Peace Contacts,

There are three things I want to tell you about advocating Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform:
1. Local Advocacy Opportunity: If any of you are interested in participating in meetings in Western Washington with our U.S. Representatives and Senators during the week of April 1-5, let me know. Please provide your name, contact phone, and your Congressional district. In addition to immigration reform, we will also be lobbying them to preserve poverty-focused funding, both domestic and international, from cuts.
2. Save the Date: The Archdiocese is organizing a workshop on comprehensive immigration reform for Saturday, April 27. The workshop will be from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. I will let you know the location as soon as we have worked out the details with a parish. 3. New JFI Resources: USCCB's Justice for Immigrants (JFI) program has released new resources for parishes and schools to use in educating Catholics about the need for comprehensive immigration reform. There are prayer cards, homily notes, sample pulpit announcement, and activity suggestions on the Archdiocesan website - www.seattlearchdiocese.org/jfi. I pray your faith will be deepened during Holy Week, Jim
