    “From Strength to Strength”

We are strong. And we are getting stronger! The committee has worked hard to continue to improve TED based on 13-14 feedback. Thank you to our hosting schools: Bishop Blanchet High School, and Bellarmine Preparatory. We offer this day at two sites to accommodate over 1600 teachers and principals. Last year we had over 1000 in attendance at the BBHS site and close to 600 at the Bellarmine location. To help us manage the numbers, please register at your school’s assigned location.
    What do we have planned?
    • Mass - We begin our day with Mass at each site. Archbishop Sartain and Fr. Rowan will celebrate Eucharist with us.

    • Keynote Address - At both sites, Fr. Rowan will give the keynote address, summarizing the great work we have completed under his leadership, specifically the Strategic Plan. The plan guides us in our work today and into the future as we transition to our new Superintendent, Dr. Patrick Haggerty.

    • Two break-out sessions - Abundance or scarcity? Last year at this time, we were working very hard to assemble enough break-out sessions to accommodate our 1600 Teacher Excellence Day participants. This year, like the loaves and fishes, we have more than enough to feed all! Thank you for the amazing response for presenters. Each participant will be asked to register for two break-out sessions. Each session will be limited to 30 participants. Once the registration is full for a session, it will be closed. So, be aware of the registration details and alert your staff to deadlines. Registration opens August 18, and closes August 29. Teachers will register for first and second choices.

    • Articulation time – In concert with the work of the ELA committee, we would like to promote a “Write On!” event and follow-up scoring time with your staff. Stay tuned for more information in the next Principal and Teacher Mailing.

Schools and Geographic Regions for Registration
    • Refer to the chart below for the assigned location
    • Teachers may register for a class outside this geographic boundary line with principal approval.
    • Presenters will be sent a confirmation email regarding their session and location.
    • Name Tags with the break-out sessions will be sent in bulk to be distributed by the principal.

    Clock hours
    • Teachers will sign in at each site and at each of their sessions.
    • Evaluation forms will be offered electronically.
    • Clock hour forms will be sent to schools when the evaluations are completed.

    Lunches
Lunch - This year, schools will be billed for the lunches. We ask the principals to complete a lunch request form for their buildings. Morning snacks are included in the cost.
