WFIS Legislative Update February 24, 2010

SHB 1329 - Providing Collective Bargaining for Child Care Center Directors and Workers.

On Monday, February 22, Judy Jennings and others opposed to this legislation met with Sen. Rosa Franklin to again express their opposition to this bill. As of this writing, the bill has not passed from the Senate Labor and Commerce Committee. In the event it does pass out of committee by Thursday's deadline, it will go to the Senate Floor for hearing.Please be prepared to send e-mails or make phone calls if we send an alert.

HB 2731 - making early childhood education part of Basic Education in the state. Mrs. Jennings also testified our opposition to this bill in the Senate Committee on Early Learning on Monday. It must come out of committee by Thursday to continue.
