Dear School Leaders,
With the release of Pope Francis’ highly anticipated encyclical on the environment, Laudato Si (Praise Be), I am happy to send you information intended to introduce and help answer questions and provide helpful information to those you serve. I’m sure that the Holy Father’s encyclical will be the subject of strong attention by the media and by our parishioners as well!
The USCCB has created a webpage with background information, quotes, homily helps and other resources you may find helpful. I’m also attaching several documents for your consideration. The attachments to this article include:
· My statement to media regarding the encyclical
· Questions and answers for some of the topics expected to generate the most interest
· And a “map” of the document to help you navigate the text more easily
As we prepare to assist our people to understand and appropriate the teaching of Pope Francis’s latest encyclical, I know you join with him and me in praise of God for the gift of creation and the crown of creation, the human person.
Sincerely in Christ,
Archbishop J. Peter Sartain
