PowerSchool version 9.0 is ready for use for all Consortium members! Thank you to Steve Deibert for navigating us through this update.
Per Steve's communication:
1. The most noticeable will be the login page. PowerSchool has switched to separate username and password fields. What was entered before the ; is your username and what was after is your password. It will take a bit of time to get used to, and will then seem normal.
2. New logo and new look and feel. With PowerSchool now being a separately held company, no longer part of Pearson, they decided that a new look was in order. It is not a drastic change, but is easier to use on tablets, and feels very comfortable. I have been using it all summer and like it very much.
3. New servers - We brought on our new server setup last night, which should provide more dependable service.
4. In addition, PowerSchool has put in place much of the foundation for their upcoming Next Generation Teacher Tools, a new gradebook. We should expect to see some early information on that around the first of the year.
PowerSchool highlights these new features, as well:
Data Visualization and Grid features
Data Export Manager Improvements
New Parent/Student Mobile app with notifications
Standards hierarchy and course associations by year
Standards grades by section
Improved data access abilities, including a new standards object in Object Reports
Grade scales improvements
Scheduling enhancements
Usability enhancements
PS Admin Training begins August 4-5-6 and August 24 is scheduled for another Gradebook Training for teachers.
PS Ticketing to the PS Help Desk - Please continue using the following email for primary communication to Steve Deibert and Shannon Schuler. helpdesk@archseapsc.org Thank you!
