• Reminder: Homework Due: Serving Diverse Learners

    If you are interested in earning the clock hours for the Educational Leadership Institute Summer Session: Serving Diverse Learners, we want to remind you that your homework is due tomorrow, Tuesday, September 22. The questions from the book study and/or the Diverse Learning Plan qualify for clock hours. Please click here for the original article with links.

    There were two assignments designed to support our learning: A book read with guiding questions and reading responses (3 clock hours), and developing an initial Inclusion Implementation Plan for your school (5 clock hours).

    For Teachers and Principals
    Part A: Each participant select two questions from each of the chapters to offer individual written reflections accompanying the book read, Beyond Academics: Supporting the Mental, Emotional and Behavioral Health of Students in Catholic Schools developed by Dr. Jim Frabutt. This assignment will be available in an electronic
    format. Each participant required to turn in individual responses. This assignment is due Tuesday, September 22, 2015. The link for the book read can be found at: http://www.ocsww.org/web-form/view.php?id=144149

    Part B: Work with your leadership team to develop an initial Inclusion Implementation Plan for your school community based on the “Readiness of the Attitudinal Culture and Environment” rubrics from the NCEA text, “Inclusive Catholic Schools: A Matter of Possibilities” (2010). One plan turned in per leadership team. This assignment is due Tuesday, September 22, 2015.

    DL Implementation Inclusion Plan Common Template: The Diversified Learners Committee, working in partnership with Kristin Dixon, designed an initial Diversified Learners Implementation Plan common template integrating Dr. Jim Frabutt and Hanna Bogen's vision into the template.
