| Dear Catechetical Colleagues, |
| As we move into the third week of Advent, our "Essential Concept" is the Liturgical Rites: Weddings; Funerals; and Blessings. Did you know that the Associated Catholic Cemeteries for our Archdiocese offer us a wealth of information related to planning for the end of life, funerals and cremation? We have added links for the Catholic Cemeteries, their resources list and specific guidelines related to cremation in the "Essential Concepts" section below. Please check out the new Year of Mercy link on the Archdiocesan homepage for more resources and events for the Jubilee Year that will continue to grow over the next several months! We also will continue to feature some of these resources in our weekly newsletter as well. The final report of the Synod of Bishops on "The Vocation and Mission of the Family in the Church and in the Contemporary World" has just been released! You can access the document here. Please also note, we have some new events to add to your calendar for 2016. These include a Faith Formation Presentation and Luncheon on March 15th, the PAFF Workshop and Retreat on April 28-29th, and our Annual PAFF Conference on June 1st. More information about these events will be shared in upcoming newsletters, but please mark your calendars now! You remain in our prayers and please let us know, how we might be of further service to all of you! In Christ, Anne Anne Frederick, Ed.D.
