Next Tuesday night, April 27, at 7:00 p.m., there will be an information night about Pax Christi, the Catholic peace movement. Marie Dennis, co-president of Pax Christi International and the Director of the Maryknoll Office of Global Concerns, will address “Peacemaking from a Catholic Perspective.” There will also be an opportunity to explore the formation of a new local Seattle-area Pax Christi chapter. This event will be held at the Pastoral Outreach Center, St. James Cathedral. Please see the attached flyer.
Social Action Summer Institute – August 1-4, 2010, Santa Clara University, San Jose, CA. Join social action ministers from across the country for a four-day institute on "Peacebuilding for the 21st Century." The Institute will feature many talented and engaging speakers including Dr. Scott Appleby, Director of the Kroc Institute at Notre Dame, Dr. Amy Carpenter of the Kroc School at the University of San Diego, Dr. Kristin Heyer of Santa Clara and Tricia Hoyt offering the "Foundations of Catholic Social Teaching" track, closing plenary by Joe Grant of JustFaith Ministries, and many more.
