The Science Standards Committee works to assist all schools in the Archdiocese to develop a process to implement science practices and review standards for the annual in-depth study. We work to identify resources for:
- Analyzing curriculum and assessment data
- Using curriculum standards integrating Catholic identity
- Instructional methodology to support all students
I thank the members for their engagement in the process and vested interested in providing a tool-kit with resources and recommendations for use in the schools. Our hopeful Science Tool-Kit roll-out will be at the March 17, 2017 in-service day.
Our Request...
As part of the work, the members developed a survey. The survey will take teachers no more than 8 minutes (we timed it!) We seek information about the minutes allotted in the schedule for science, alignment with NGSS, resources /professional development and overall satisfaction with the resource. The answers will be shared with the committee and become part of our science tool-kit. Survey closes Wednesday, November 30, 2016.
