The Washington State Holocaust Education Resource Center is offering educators and the community an incredible opportunity to hear world renowned scholar, professor and author Robert Jan van Pelt speak on his new book, Flight from the Reich: Refugee Jews, 1933 – 1946.

The issues facing refugees today are as critical as they were over 60 years ago. Come and hear Robert Jan van Pelt speak on a seldom studied aspect of the Holocaust – onethat is especially timely considering the global situation of today.

Robert Jan van Pelt, a native of Holland, is an author, architectural historian, professor at the University of Waterloo, Ontario and a Holocaust scholar. One of the world's leading experts on Auschwitz, he regularly speaks on Holocaust related topics, Recent books include: Flight from the Reich: Refugee Jews, 1933-1946, Holocaust: A History, and The Case for Auschwitz: Evidence from the Irving Trial. Dr. van Pelt will be signing his book at the end of the program.
