• Mass for Life January 18, 2011

    December 8, 2010

    Dear School Principals:

St. Michael Parish and School will be celebrating a “Mass for Life” on Tuesday, January 18th in conjunction with the Walk for Life. During the past years we have seen attendance and participation at the Mass for Life grow exponentially. This year we will be celebrating two separate Masses. One Mass at our downtown church location will have Archbishop Sartain as the presider beginning at 10:00 AM. We will also be offering a youth Mass in our school gym with Superintendent of Schools, Bishop Tyson as our presider beginning at 9:30 AM.

On behalf of St. Michael Parish, I would like to extend an invitation to all of our Catholic Schools to be a part of this celebration of life. We are encouraging all schools to attend the youth Mass in our school gym. It will be a great opportunity for us to celebrate Mass as a Catholic School community from many different schools in our Archdiocese. For those schools who will also be participating in the march to the Capital, we will also have a complimentary “hot dog lunch” in our cafeteria following the march sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and St. Michael School.

As you can imagine this endeavor will take a great deal of planning and preparation. If you are planning to attend, please let me know in advance so that we can prepare for your arrival and make this day a faith-filled, productive celebration. We would like to know how many students and teachers will be attending, as well as, how many cars or busses you will be bringing. Feel free to contact me at any time either by e-mail at jnelson@stmikesolympia.org or by phone at (360) 754-5131.

    God bless,

    Jack Nelson
    Principal
    St. Michael Parish School
