Spring/Summer Tech Training Options

We know many of you have been eagerly awaiting the release of the new iPad 3. It has been announced and will be available for purchase soon, so we have scheduled our first batch of iPad trainings! You may still purchase an iPad 2 and the price for that has been lowered substantially. We have also scheduled both iPad 2 and iPad 3 trainings.

The iPad 2 only comes as a 16GB, and the only upgrade available is for a 16GB + 3G:

This “iPad 2 Included” workshop starts by covering the basics of how to use your new device with time to explore and get comfortable with both hardware and software. Then dive into exploring educational uses of the iPad. We will showcase free and paid apps that support both administrators and teachers, as well as iPad management and configuration strategies. Course fee includes a modest dinner and a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad 2. CANCELLATION POLICY: After March 26, no refunds on the course fee can be made.

OPTIONAL iPAD UPGRADE: If you would like to upgrade your iPad 2 to an iPad + 3G, contact Janet Hinrichs by March 26 between 8am-5pm at jhinrichs@psesd.org or (425) 917-7930 in order to pay the additional cost of $160. NOTE: There are no other upgrade options for the iPad 2.

In addition to the iPad trainings, we have been busily scheduling a number of spring and summer classes. They are listed on the PDF attachment. Clock hours and SPU credits noted are PENDING. Upcoming trainings include:

• Creating with iPads – a brand new 6-hour iPad class
• Digital Photography Daycamp – an old favorite with 3 days of digital photography immersion
• SMART Board/SMART Notebook 101 – instruction, practice, and tips on this hardware and associated software & tools
• Lego Robotics – make Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math come alive!
• HDSLR Video and Production Premium – for anyone interested in using a DSLR camera to shoot video
• Several mini-conferences (Just Google It, Online Learning DemoFest, iPads in Education Symposium, and more!
