The Center for Game Science at the UW Computer Science & Engineering has an internship opportunity for a few high school students interested in computer science and games. The Center develops scientific discovery games, games that discover optimal learning pathways for STEM education, cognitive skill training games, games that promote human creativity and explore collective over individual intelligence.
We are looking for students passionate about games and computer science. During their internship, the students will learn about the software and game development process, game design, working in a team, how to test games, report and reproduce bugs, how to run user studies and think-alouds, how to manage online communities, and potentially gain some technical knowledge about ActionScript and Flash.
Commitment time would be up to 10 hours per week for a few weeks (to be determined to fit the students’ schedules).
Interested students can email me (beamarx@cs.washington.edu) for more information.
I hope you can pass on this opportunity to your science and math students who could be interested.
