Dear Friend of Fulcrum,
I want to share with you some important news about Fulcrum. It is difficult news but at the same time I think we can see it as hopeful.
As you will see from our official statement, Joe Womac will be leaving Fulcrum next year after the February Celebration of Light. He will be taking a position as the executive director of a foundation in the Los Angeles area that supports Catholic education. Joe has made this decision after a lot of prayerful and careful discernment. He is convinced that it is the best thing for his growing family and that it can be a positive thing for Fulcrum as well. Difficult as that may be for us to believe, I support Joe in his decision and honestly believe that this really can be a good moment for Fulcrum.
As you know, Joe -- along with a great Board of Trustees, a very capable staff, and a huge family of committed donors -- has built a great organization that is on a solid foundation and ready to move into a bright future. I have every confidence that this is exactly what will happen as Joe makes his transition and Fulcrum takes steps to secure new leadership.
In making this announcement, I know I can count on your prayers for Fulcrum and its future as well as for all the wonderful children in our schools who are at the heart of Fulcrum’s mission. Please pray, too, for Joe and his family as they get ready for what promises to be an exciting and eventful new moment in their life.
May God who has guided and richly blessed Fulcrum from the very beginning continue to prosper its work into a bright future.
Gratefully,
Fr. Michael G. Ryan
Chair of the Board
