Open Educational Resources Day

9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Puget Sound ESD
Explore the possibilities of Open Educational Resources. Event attendance is FREE!
Open educational resources (OER) are free and openly licensed educational materials that can be used for teaching, learning, and research. In April 2012, the Washington State Legislature passed bill HB2337, directing the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction to create a collection of openly licensed courseware aligned to the common-core standards and an associated awareness campaign to inform school districts about these resources.
This day-long event, sponsored by OSPI in partnership with PSESD, will explore OER and address their usage in the K12 classroom.
Target Audience: Educators involved in the curriculum review and adoption process within the district.
