Service Awards 2013

Dear Principals:

Awards for service are made at ten years and increments of five years thereafter. With the creation of the Catholic Schools Employee Database (CSED), we can now track Service Awards for employees. This week, you will soon be sent an email, listing your employees who have indicated in their Portfolio that they are eligible for an award this year. To aid you in creating your Service Award list, there will also be a spreadsheet with historical data of service awards for your school. In addition, at the end of this week, we are sending an email to all employees in CSED, reminding them to update their service award information in their portfolio (CSEP).

In regard to Principals and Presidents for Administrative Awards: The Administrative Awards are separate from the Service Awards. As a Principal/President, you should identify yourself for an award at the appropriate year, when sending your award list to OCS (our new name!). Your Service Award information should be updated in your portfolio (CSEP), the same as a regular employee.

Employees on your CSED list must have 2013 entered as next award date in their portfolio. [If an employee has not entered this information in their portfolio, you can enter it for them using CSED.] Some schools do not include all employees, such as custodians, in CSED. Those names and levels of service should be included in the final Service Award list email, in the same way you identify yourself for an Administrative Award. Note: Awards are for years of service in Catholic Education (any diocese).

In summary, by February 8, send OCS an email or spreadsheet with the following information.

Service Awards for CSED employees listed due in 2013
Teacher 1, 10 years
Teacher 2, 15 years
Etc.

Service Awards for non-certified employees due in 2013
Custodian A, 10 years

Administrative Awards (If any)
