Please let me know if you need helping accessing this rich data. This is the same portal where AP data is released every July. AP Potential has improved this year to make it easier for schools to use the data. Also new this year, a student’s AP Potential is revealed to them through My College Quick Start—which actually describes the courses for which they have ability and indicates which of those courses are offered at their school. Through the PSAT/NMSQT® educators have access online to the Summary of Answers and Skills (SOAS), and other tools that can help improve student skills, visit www.collegeboard.com/psatreports <http://professionals.collegeboard.co...eporting-tools>>.
ReadiStep, PSAT/NMSQT, and SAT are aligned. Skills Insight shows students/parents/educators skills alignment available on the web. Skills Insight: http://psatskills.collegeboard.com or www.collegeboard.com/psatskills State alignments: http://professionals.collegeboard.co...state-standard or www.collegeboard.com/psatalignments
The 9th Annual AP Report to the Nation will be released Feb. 20, featuring data from the 2012 test administration, attesting to the incredible power that is AP. New this year is information about the number of students with a perfect score. Teachers make a huge difference; did you know that based on 2011 data, that of those students scoring a 2 on the AP CALC exam, 71% were within five points of achieving a qualifying score of 3? 29% were within 2 points. In AP Psychology, 44% were within 5 points of a 3. Teachers receive data through the AP Online Score reporting portal teaching materials to help them.
Important dates:
The AP Fellows Program Application deadline is February 15. This competitive grant provides scholarships for secondary school teachers to attend AP Summer Institutes, an excellent opportunity for teachers to gain command over a specific AP subject. Scholarships are available to teachers from schools that serve mostly minority or low-income students who have been traditionally underrepresented in AP courses.
- Fifty percent or more of the student population must consist of traditionally underrepresented students of color (African American, Hispanic, or Native American)
- Fifty percent or more of the student population must consist of students whose average family income level is equivalent to, or below, the national annual average for a low-income family of four (approximately $36,000)
The $1,000 scholarships assist teachers with the cost of attending an AP Summer Institute. Any funds remaining after the registration for the summer institute is paid, are given to the teacher to apply to additional expenses. Endorsed institutes may be found by searching at this page: http://apcentral.collegeboard.com/ap...Controller.jpf
Please visit collegeboard.org for further information and an example of a successful application. Teachers must submit the grant application and recommendation letter on line http://professionals.collegeboard.com/k-12/awards/ap-grants
AP® Course Audit portal will close Jan. 31! AP® exams may be administered, but only approved courses may appear on transcripts.
As always, we are more than happy to help any way we can. Hope to see you at the Western Regional College Board Forum: February 22-23 in San Diego. Look forward to continuing to work with you!
