Dear Private School Administrators:
Under Section 9501 of Title IX of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) as amended by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), private, nonprofit elementary and secondary school students, teachers, and other educational personnel are eligible to participate in federally-funded programs as authorized.
This is a reminder that in order for your school to qualify to participate in federal programs in the 2013-2014 school year, you must indicate that intent in OSPI’s Education Data System (EDS) no later than March 8, 2013.
OSPI Bulletin No B069-12 and Attachment B describe the process, provide instructions for filling out the online form, and provide contact information for questions or concerns. OSPI sent these documents to the school contacts listed in their database in December, but they are also attached to this e-mail for reference. A link to the documents relevant to B069-12 is below. (Please refer to two attachments below.)

UPDATE: March 5
It has come to our attention that there may have been a glitch with the 2013-14 Private School Participation in Federal Programs application. When private schools clicked on the Save button rather than the Submit button, the system did not save their participation data correctly.
For the private schools, we suggest you go into the application and verify the information for your school is correct and actually hit the Submit button if you have not already done so. The Private School Participation in Federal Programs application closes at the end of business on March 8, 2013.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. If you have questions or concerns, please contact me.
