• Seattle Nativity School Approved as 74th Catholic School

Archbishop J. Peter Sartain has approved Seattle Nativity School as a "Category 2" Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Seattle, effective immediately. The school will be an independent, Catholic middle school in the Jesuit tradition that serves low-income, at-risk youth in the Central District and South Seattle from grades 5th through 8th. It will be a co-educational institution, and each grade will serve 15-20 students who can demonstrate that they qualify for the national free-lunch program, classifying them as living below the poverty level. Seattle Nativity’s mission, curriculum, and faculty will help disadvantaged students overcome the widening achievement gap seen in Seattle.

Seattle Nativity School will be located at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Parish, in the Mount Baker neighborhood, and will open this fall. For more information, please visit their website: www.seattlenativity.org.
