It gives me great pleasure to announce that the Fulcrum Foundation has a new Executive Director. He is Dr. Anthony Holter, currently Director of Program Evaluation and Research for the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) at the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Holter was the unanimous choice of the search committee after they interviewed six candidates who were identified in a national search. After meetings with both Archbishop Sartain, Sue Mecham, Fulcrum Managing Director, and myself, Anthony has enthusiastically accepted the position.
I have no doubt whatever that Fulcrum will be blessed with Anthony Holter’s leadership. He is a faith-filled Catholic scholar with a passionate commitment to Catholic education. He has served as teacher, mentor, researcher, national presenter, and advocate for Catholic schools, and has keen insights both into the challenges facing our schools as well as the many opportunities for innovation and growth. It is clear that he will bring strong and visionary leadership to his new role.
Anthony is no stranger to this Archdiocese. With former Executive Director, Joe Womac, Anthony personally visited nearly a dozen of our schools over the past five years and he was present this past February at the Celebration of Light.
Anthony will be present at the May 31 meeting of the Board of Trustees. Then, after completing his commitments to ACE, he will make the move from South Bend with his wife, Caroline and their two children, and officially begin his duties at Fulcrum on August 1, 2013.
I want to take this opportunity to thank George Hofbauer and the members of the search committee for their fine work. I want also to express gratitude to Sue Mecham, Interim Executive Director and Managing Director of Fulcrum, as well as to the Fulcrum staff for their excellent work during this time of transition.
