• Teacher Excellence Day- IMPORTANT INFORMATION

    Dear Teachers:

Teacher Excellence Day is on the way! We are “Strengthening Our Mission” with over 1500 classroom teachers, specialists, counselors and administrators registered! Now, we are in the final throes of managing details. Agenda
    Here’s the scoop!

Doors Open – At 7:45 A.M. for browsing the vendors and coffee and tea.

Vendors – Vendors will be available throughout the day.

Parking – At Bellarmine Preparatory School, this will not be a concern. Parking at Bishop Blanchet High School−the vendors, presenters, and school staff will be using the school parking lot. We have secured the following lots for parking: St. Catherine School, St. John School and North Seattle Community College. Shuttles will run between Bishop Blanchet High School and these three locations beginning at 7:30 AM. If you will park your vehicle at North Seattle Community College, please use the Southeast parking lot right off north 92nd. Thank you to Mary Helen Bever and Bernadette O’Leary for the use of their lots! Those of you arriving on chartered buses, reserved parking will be available at Bishop Blanchet High School and at Bellarmine Preparatory School.
Shuttles – A big thank you to the staff of Bishop Blanchet High School who will run shuttles to and from the sites beginning at 7:30 A.M. and ending at 8:45 A.M. Shuttles will run again at the end of the day starting at 2:40 PM and will make several runs. BBHS shuttles will have the name of the satellite lot on the window of the bus (St. Catherine, St. John, NSCC).

Carpools – Even with the secured lots, we strongly encourage carpools – it is good for Mother Earth, and even better for Teacher Excellence Day!

Public Transportation – Or, better yet, if you can manage it, take public transportation!
Go to Metro Seattle Trip planner at http://tripplanner.kingcounty.gov/. Routes that serve Bishop Blanchet High School are: 16, 316, 48, 82, 355, 994.

Food – Coffee and tea service upon entry, a mid-morning snack, lunch and dessert around noon. No need to go off site!

Clock Hours – All participants must sign in twice. Once at the sign-in desk at the beginning of the day, and once at the break out session.

Name-Tags – Enclosed in packets mailed out yesterday, principals will find the name tags for all the participants with the Break-Out Sessions and room numbers. Be sure to bring your nametag with you!

Host /Hostess – One participant in each Break-Out Session has been randomly chosen to act as host/hostess. All this entails is to make sure that all participants have signed the sign-in sheet to receive clock hours at the end of the day. We thank all hosts/hostesses in advance!

Raffle – Some of our vendors have provided wonderful raffle items, so be sure to complete your Bingo card and deliver it to the entry box by the Front Desk at the end of lunch.

Evaluation Form – Be sure to complete your evaluation form. We really do pay attention to your comments! This is why the structure of our day has changed – due to your feedback!

Finally – an invitation! Consider being a part of our music for our liturgy. Each school site has opened their arms to all to help lead us in our music. If you play an instrument, bring it. If you sing with gusto, sing it!
Bellarmine Preparatory School – Musicians meet at 7:45 A.M. Music practice for the liturgy at Bellarmine is in the St. Aloysius Gonzaga chapel.
Bishop Blanchet High School – Musicians, grab your lunch at 12:15 PM and head to the gym to rehearse during our lunch hour.
