Notice for all Catholic Schools residing in the Seattle Public Schools District boundaries.
The annual Child Find/Proportionate Share meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 21 at the John Stanford Center for Educational Excellence (JSCEE) from 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m. The building is located between 1st and 4th & Lander, at 2445 3rd Avenue South. Please plan on attending this meeting to discuss district Child Find obligations, Special Education evaluation procedures and Proportionate Share.
Proportionate Share funding is set-aside specifically for private school students and can be used in many ways. We are required to make a new determination each year, and you are invited to participate in the discussion and decision. Please join us this year and let us know what services you would like made available to your students. This is a collaborative consultation meeting where your voice really does matter!
Last year we agreed to implement Service Plans and offer direct reading services to parentally - placed private school students, not dual-enrolled in the District or receiving services through an IEP. These students were able to receive up to 90 minutes of direct reading services at their private school each week. We also provided equipment in schools and allowed students residing out-of-district to access direct services at Seattle Public Schools. I have some exciting options to propose this year, and would love to hear any and all proposals from the group! Please RSVP to this email address by October 17th if you plan to attend.
