I serve as the OCS liaison to the Archdiocesan Diversified Learners Committee and work with Principals Brian Anderson and Dan Sherman who serve as the Co-Chairs of the Diversified Learners Committee. Currently, the DL Committee has 32 teacher leaders representing our regions throughout western Washington and have been extremely responsive to moving forward with our committee work aligned to the strategic plan. To review our DL minutes and check out some of the resources we are tacking, please visit the Diversified Learners Online Forum.
One initiative is to collect baseline data on faculty and administrator attitudes and perceptions on Catholic teaching regarding students with disabilities. We invite all teachers and school leaders in our 74 schools to take this 5 - 10 minute survey monkey regarding our Catholic identity and inclusive education. I personally want to thank Angela Mejdrich, PreK Teacher at St. Brendan School, Bothell for her diligence and perseverance to design this survey with the support of the leadership at St. Brendan School, Augsburg College, the Diversified Learners Committee membership, and our Superintendent, Father Stephen C. Rowan.
I hope you will take time to participate fully in this online survey which will be open until Friday, May 9th.
