The Alumni Seminar Program presented by the College of Arts and Sciences of Seattle University will offer the following seminar in the fall for alumni or friends of the university:
Pope Francis I and the Future of the Church
Tuesday evenings: Oct. 7, 21, Nov. 4, 18, Dec. 2, 9 – PIGT 107, 6:00—8:30pm
This seminar will introduce us to the life, teachings, spirituality, and hopes of Pope Francis I, the first pope from the new world and the Jesuit order. We will read his biography, writings, interviews, and recent letters to the world and the Church. We will also discuss the first Synod of Bishops that will meet with Pope Francis this fall. Seattle University faculty members who will lead these seminars include Patrick Howell, S. J., Catherine Punsalan, Fr. Michael Raschko, David Leigh, S. J., and an ecumenical leader.
Alumni Seminars are open to Seattle University alumni and other college graduates in the Seattle area who seek a high-quality adult learning experience, stimulating discussions of life’s deeper questions, and the companionship of other active minds.
The cost of the six-session seminar, which includes all materials, books, parking, and refreshments is $210.
