Demonstration re: Assisted Suicide – According to the State of Washington’s website, at least 52 people have committed physician-assisted suicide since the so-called Death with Dignity law went into effect last March. True Compassion Advocates (TCA) invites you to attend a demonstration protesting the one-year anniversary of the legalization of assisted suicide in Washington State. Please join them on March 5, 2010, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle on the sidewalk near the front of the hospital at 1959 N.E. Pacific Street. Mass, Stations & Film to Honor Archbishop Romero – March 24 will mark the 30th anniversary of the assassination of Oscar Romero, Archbishop of San Salvador. St. James will hold a special Mass at 5:30 p.m., followed by Stations of the Cross and a film on his life. Please see the attached flier for details.

Justice for Immigrants – The JFI website (www.justiceforimmigrants.org) has been updated and has an electronic postcard to urge Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform this year. The parish immigration kit has been updated and is available on the new website.
