The annual Sister Mary Taylor Award was established by the Archdiocesan School Board in January 1986 to recognize distinguished service to Catholic education by teachers, staff, administrators, and those who have made outstanding gifts of their time, talent, and resources in the service of Catholic schools. The award is named in honor of Sister Mary Taylor, SNJM, a well-respected teacher, administrator, and Associate Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Seattle.
