My name is Caitlin Littlefield – I’m a PhD student in the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences at the University of Washington. We’re hosting a video contest for Washington state high school and undergraduate students – the UW Climate Change Video Contest – and I’m wondering if you can spread the word to any students you teach or know.
For the contest, we’re asking students: What does climate change mean to you? The first place prize is $5K!!
Videos must be 3 minutes or less and can take on any format imaginable – Claymation, music video, film noir mystery, ballet, stand-up comedy routine, rock opera, documentary, and everything else in between. Submissions are due on April 13, 2015.
A celebrity panel of climate scientists, artists and filmmakers will judge the top 10 videos—five from the high school category and five from the undergraduate college/university category. The lucky finalists will get to see their hard work on the big screen and meet the judges at a public screening and award ceremony on May 15, 2015.
We’re excited to see what Washington students have to say about climate change, and we hope you can help us encourage students to participate! Feel free to post or share the attached informational poster far and wide.
