Both conferences are funded through the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act Title II, Part A, Teacher and Principal Quality program. These conferences are complimentary to all educators employed by private schools approved by the State Board of Education. Attached is a flyer for distribution to your faculty rooms.
Private Schools Summer Conference
The sixth annual Private Schools Summer Conference, in partnership with Seattle Pacific University’s Center for Professional Education and Gonzaga University’s School of Education, will provide educators with equitable participation services in state-level activities designed to improve teacher and principal quality. This is in addition to the services provided to private school educators through their local school districts.
Registration Process
Registration for the conferences will open on May 4, 2015. Registration for both conferences can be found on our Title II, Part A Private Schools website at http://www.k12.wa.us/TitleIIA/Privat...onference.aspx. The last day to register for all conference dates will be June 8, 2015. No late registrations will be accepted. Hurry to sign-up, conference schedules fill up quickly and registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
Conference Meals
As of 2012, the Title II, Part A Office at the U.S. Department of Education no longer allows the use of federal funds to provide food and beverages at meetings or professional development training sessions. We encourage all conference participants to be aware of these changes and to plan accordingly.
