Recommended Time for Subjects in Elementary Schools

Attached please find the chart for the recommended time allotments in the elementary school. Notice that in the primary classrooms more time is spent on the teaching of reading. The emphasis shifts in third grade from learning to read to reading to learn. Students in the middle school shift the reading focus to informational texts in both science and social studies.
