Where do I park for Teacher Excellence Day?
St. Charles Borromeo School has plenty of parking to accommodate all participants.
Bishop Blanchet participants are asked to park at the North Seattle Community College lot, at the N 92nd St & Corliss Ave N entrance. This lot is 0.7 mile from Bishop Blanchet’s campus. Via Wallingford Ave N and N 92nd St.
A shuttle bus will be available between Bishop Blanchet and North Seattle Community College Campus Parking Lot. Shuttles will start running from North Seattle Community College at 7:45 AM.
What time do the doors open?
8:15 A.M.
What do I need to do if I didn’t register?
Attend! By all means, we want you there! When you arrive, please see the “Help Desk” for late registrations.
What time does the first event occur?
9:00 A.M. The Liturgy is at the top of the list! We begin our day in gratitude for the gift of a new school year and for all our colleagues who join us in the ministry of Catholic Education!
When can I visit the vendors?
Vendors will be available throughout the day, but the scheduled times will be at the start of our day and during our breaks and lunch times.
Will there be raffle prizes?
Yes! Winning cards will be displayed on the Raffle Board in the exhibit hall. Bingo cards will be selected every hour beginning after break.
If I am a presenter, when will I know how many participants have registered for my breakout session?
All presenters will receive a list of the participants for each session by the end of next week. If you have hand-outs, please bring those with you.
Articulation time of the day?
Assignments for articulation rooms and topics will be sent in next week’s mailing. Please check your emails on Monday!
Who will be giving the Keynote Address?
Dr. Kevin Baxter, Senior Director and Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Dr. Baxter is responsible for coordinating and implementing the vision for growth for Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, with a student population of 80,000, from pre-school through 12th gr. His focus is on aligning the elementary and high school departments to more effectively and efficiently meet their own goals for growth and communication to all stakeholders progress towards those goals.
What are the awards and who are the recipients?
At the Bishop Blanchet site:
• The Sister Mary Taylor Archdiocesan School Board Award to Mr. Jim Paynton, Instrumental Music Program Leader at Kennedy Catholic High School, in recognition of longtime commitment to Catholic Schools.
At the St. Charles Borromeo School site:
• The Archbishop Alex J. Brunett Award to Rev. James E. Lee, Pastor at St. Michael Parish in Olympia, for his outstanding leadership and support of Catholic schools.
What time do we conclude our day together?
The day concludes at 2:45 P.M.
