Dear Catholic School Leaders:
We write today with extraordinarily sad news.
Saturday night, Sue Mecham--Managing Director of the Fulcrum Foundation--passed away. All that we know at this time is that on Saturday evening Sue went to bed after cheering on her beloved WSU Cougars, and passed during her sleep.
Sue's passing is a profound loss to so many, especially to her wonderful family. She and her husband Randy have two daughters, Sophie (a Gonzaga graduate) and Natalie (a University of Portland graduate). For all who know Sue and her zest for life, we find ourselves in disbelief and overwhelming sadness.
Sue's gift of connecting with people and of bringing them together for a higher purpose, has strengthened Fulcrum and countless Catholic schools throughout the Archdiocese of Seattle. There is no doubt that Fulcrum's success in the last decade is a testament to Sue, her tremendous gifts, and her commitment to our schools. Sue was a compassionate, determined, and visionary leader--a great friend and trusted partner.
Thank you for keeping Sue and her family, as well as the staff at Fulcrum Foundation and the Office for Catholic Schools, in your thoughts and prayers. As we find out more information regarding the services for Sue, we will be certain to let you know.
Eternal rest grant unto Sue, O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon her.
May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace...
