11/30/15 UPDATE:
Dear IOWA Data Team Members,
Due to low registration numbers and concerns about the frosty weather and droving conditions, we have changed the in-person Post-Test Data Training Day that was scheduled for tomorrow, December 1st, here at Isaac Orr Conference Room, The Chancery to an online, live Data Manager Webinar from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. We apologize for the change but I think it is a better use of our collective time. If you can join us via the webinar, the instructions are below:
Post Testing Data Manager Review
Tuesday, Dec 1, 2015 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Please join the meeting from your computer, tablet or smartphone.

You can also dial in using your phone.

Access Code: 478-352-605
Our Outcomes:
1) Where do we notice our collective strengths?
2) What information do we want to know?
3) How do we begin pulling the data and creating specific reports? PRACTICE TIME.
4) How can our data teams use the data throughout the year to change/shift current instructional practices to better meet the needs of our students? Tyler Brown, who will be facilitating tomorrow's webinar, has also offered to host local IOWA webinars as a refresher for your faculty, if that would also be helpful in the next few months as we break open the achievement data.

Our office is still processing the IOWA roll-up data and waiting for the ITBS roll-up data from Riverside. Thank you for your patience!
Blessings,

Please remember:
1. If something looks funny or you are waiting for additional paper reports or labels, please contact Valerie Kosinski, our Riverside, Consortium Assessment Coordinator, via phone or email so she can quickly respond to your needs. Valerie.Kosinski@hmhco.com or FAX (630) 467-7192 attention: Valerie or 1-800-767-8420 ext. 7079.
2. IOWA Consortium: Your Data Manager Reporting Key is a code you enter one time to gain access to a report or group of reports for a specific test administration. You must have a Data Manager user account and enter a reporting key to view your school’s reports. This reporting key will also connect you to CogAT 7 results for those schools who included this reasoning test at specific grades. 29 IOWA schools have their reporting keys established from last year and one school will be receiving an auto-generated email from DataManagerreporting@hmhpub.com – please check your junk mail folder if you have not found this important information. If by Friday, you do NOT have your reporting key for the 2015-2016 testing administration, please contact Valerie Kosinski directly to resend.
3. ITBS Consortium: Your school will be receiving new Building and Grade level access codes for 2015-2016. Please remember, you will need each year's code information to study your data through IRM (Interactive Results Manager). If by Friday, you do NOT have your ITBS building codes for the 2015-2016 testing administration, please contact Valerie Kosinski directly to resend. Because our 19 ITBS schools are very comfortable with IRM, I am not offering a workshop at this time. If you need me to come out for a faculty meeting to review the ITBS data with your faculty, please just email me directly. I would be looking at times after December 1st.

IOWA/Data Manager is the next generation database and challenges us to think first of our desired outcomes: What do we want to learn about our students? Then we begin filtering to secure the correct reporting that we desire. I am attaching 5 guiding documents that we shared last year to assist your data team in orienting themselves as they begin/review using Data Manager:
1) Data Manager Navigation - 5 scenarios (8 page PDF) an
2) Data Manager - 5 activities (2 page PDF). We will be working on these with Tyler Brown’s help on Dec. 1st
3) Quick Start Web Reporting Key Directions for Staff – one page
4) Quick Start Web Reporting key Direction for Account Holder (Administration) – one page
5) Navigating Data Manager Reports - helpful guidance.
Then… Play – if possible, please give yourself some time to familiarize yourself with Data Manager before we gather.
