Dear Catechetical Colleagues,
Our "Essential Concept" this week is Human Freedom and Conscience Formation. Please check out the video links below that offer excellent resources for teaching these topics.
As you know, we are also quickly approaching the season of Lent. The Library Media Center has several suggestions that can support your programs. Lent is also the perfect time to more deeply explore the Archdiocesan Year of Mercy website.
On February 16th, there will be a gathering for all those involved in bereavement and grief support ministry at St. Vincent de Paul parish in Federal Way. The guest speaker will be Mary Hejnal, a Catholic bereavement specialist for Evergreen Hospital. Please contact the OCFF office, if you would like more information about this event.
We are also very excited that Dr. Ann Garrido will be offering a presentation on her book, Redeeming Administration on March 15th for our annual Pastor/Faith Formation Leader Luncheon. Her talk will be both inspirational and informational for all those involved with parish, school, and catechetical leadership!
We are hoping that all of our Pastoral Assistants for Faith Formation will also take advantage of our Workshop and Retreat on April 28-29th. This overnight time will offer everyone an opportunity to deepen our understanding of implementing our Archdiocesan Religion Standards. It will also be a wonderful time for networking and sharing ideas on best practices for catechesis across all age levels.
Finally, please mark your calendars for our Annual PAFF Conference on June 1st. Dr. Joe Paprocki will be our presenter and he will be talking about his new book, A Church on the Move: 52 Ways to Get Mission and Mercy in Motion.
In Christ,
Anne
