The Emmaus Series
for Catholic School Leaders
for Catholic School Leaders
Greetings from Boston College,
I am very pleased to announce the Barbara and Patrick Roche Center for Catholic Education of Boston College will once again be offering The Emmaus Series: A Leadership Advantage Program for Catholic School Leaders. The Emmaus Series is a rigorous and rewarding opportunity designed to strengthen the leadership capacity of Catholic school principals and heads of schools.
The Emmaus Series recruits a new cohort of 30 Catholic school principals and heads of school each spring. Cohort 2016 will consist of school leaders from around the country who bring a wide variety of experiences, strengths, and needs. Members will be selected based on the particular gifts they are willing to share, challenges for which they seek direction, and readiness for genuine collaboration among peers.
School leaders in the Emmaus Series journey together as companions with the aim of realizing meaningful change in their schools. All participants are required to attend 2 overnight retreats, and participate in 8 one-day workshops and 1-hour bi-monthly webinars over the 20 months.
Participants living outside of New England may opt to join the daylong workshops via live-stream, but are required to participate in the 2 overnight retreats and the final workshop with commencement event in person.
There is a $1,100 enrollment fee for the program, which contributes to the total participation cost of $2,900. The balance is subsidized by the Barbara and Patrick Roche Center for Catholic Education. Financial assistance, as well as support with accessing federal Title IIA funds or other local funding sources, is available.
To facilitate recruitment, I kindly request your assistance in circulating information about this opportunity by encouraging school leaders within your diocese to visit www.emmausseries.org. Here, leaders will find detailed information on the program, the online application, as well as endorsements from current cohort members. Those interested should apply by March 7th. Selected school leaders will be notified of their acceptance by April 1st. You will be notified of those accepted from your diocese.
Thank you for your ongoing support and I look forward to working with you and your school leaders over the coming months. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone at 617-552-4187 or by email at patricia.weitzel-oneill@bc.edu
All the best,
