| Dear Catechetical Colleagues, |
| Our "Essential Concept" this week is the Personal and Social Sin. Lent is a time to reflect on when our actions have distanced ourselves from the love of God and others. This Year of Mercy is a perfect opportunity to celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation. On Saturday, March 5th St. James Cathedral will be offering a Day of Mercy with confessors available from 9 am - 5 pm. We also would like to draw your attention to this short video titled "Be Kind" featuring Fr. James Martin, SJ. Fr. Jim talks about how we can develop our care and concern for others during Lent. Additionally, this week's newsletter has multiple print and digital resources for catechesis on sin and God's everlasting gift of mercy. Archived RE newsletters are now available! If you are looking for resources on past essential concepts, take a look at the new webpage where you can find all of the past newsletters organized by the specific concept. Look for it in the Library Media Center section of the Archdiocese of Seattle website or select this link. Also, please remember to mark your calendars for the upcoming Faith Formation Presentation and Luncheon, March 15th in the Isaac Orr Conference Center at the Chancery. REDEEMING ADMINISTRATION: Spirituality for Catholic Leaders. View the flyer for more information and to register. Please register by March 8th. In Christ, Anne Anne Frederick, Ed.D.
