Leadership Academy – Session 8

Class 1: Private School Law:
• Kent Hickey will speak on the distinct differences in Level I and Level II schools, Laws that govern school policy and procedurres, Basic knowledge of Archdiocesan policies, The use of the most current Archdiocesan forms, and the Primary knowledge of private vs. public school law.

Class 2: Catholic School Governance:
• Dr. Patrick Haggarty will speak on how to Understand the roles of a Canonically Appointed Leader, Principal, Parish Administrator and school commission/board in governance; How to train volunteer school commission/board members for their role in governance; Understand and practice consultation in the Church, regarding the consultative role of a Council per a corporation sole; and Be comfortable with and assure that consultation takes place prior to major decisions being made.
