Dear IOWA Testing Team Leaders,
As we close the 15-16 school year, we quickly turn the page for strong preparation for the Fall testing window (October 17-31, 2016) for the 8 schools in the IOWA Consortium for the final year. These are the 8 IOWA Form E schools testing together this fall:
1. Holy Rosary School, West Seattle, New Principal: Anna Horton and Testing Coordinators: Mary Jo McFaul and Sue Harris.
2. Immaculate Conceptual Regional School, Mt. Vernon. Principal Gwen Rodriques and Testing Coordinator: Sarah Rutherford.
3. Pacific Crest Academy, Camus. Principal Tamar Parker and Testing Coordinator Jeanette Rafferty.
4. St. Frances Cabrini School, Tacoma. Principal Monica Des Jarlais and Testing Coordinator Lynn Wilson.
5. St. Joseph School, Issaquah. Principal Peg Johnston and Testing Coordinators: Judy Lash and Jackie Olund.
6. St. Madeleine Sophie School, Bellevue. Principal Dan Sherman and Testing Coordinator: Martine Romero.
7. St. Mary Magdalen School, Everett. New Principal: Zack Cunningham and Testing Coordinator: Rachel Scherger.
8. St. Matthew School, Seattle. Principal and Testing Coordinator: Karen Herlihy.
Please read and apply the attached IOWA Supplemental Coding Legend for the Archdiocese of Seattle as you prepare to complete your school’s spreadsheet. We have edited it down a bit to align with the NWEA-MAP Supplemental Coding Legend so we are in sync with the 50 elementary schools testing this year.
Our HMH-Harcourt assessment coordinator continues to be Valerie Kosinski in Chicago. Valerie has sent us an updated 2016 Materials Order Form for IOWA-Form E and a Seattle Archdiocese Material Order Form for 2016 IOWA E7 in case there are any supplies that you might need as you prepare for the Fall testing window.
If your school is experiencing a leadership transition, please fill out the EMAIL verification form for Valerie Kosinski so she can ensure the new school leader is set up properly in Data Manager correctly. The email verification form is attached for your convenience.
Your school’s barcode template spreadsheet indicating the student demographic information for each student you will be testing in October is due to the Office for Catholic Schools on or before Friday, August 19th. Please send your completed spreadsheet to Vireak Ath who will review all spreadsheets and send the spreadsheets directly to Valerie Kosinski directly to meet our goal of all barcoding spreadsheets to HMH before Wednesday, August 31. If you enroll any new students after 8/19 who will be in your testing pool, the testing coordinator will need to bubble in the essential student information on the student answer sheet by hand. Schools will receive their bar code labels at the Principals’ Retreat Sept. 22 -23 in Silverdale or I will personally deliver this packet to your school. There will be no Sept. Pre-Test meeting as your schools have a done a solid job in years’ past.
Here are the directions to ensure a successful bar coding process: All 8 schools are receiving a blank 2016 IOWA Barcode Template form to populate.
If your school is a member of our PowerSchool Consortium:
There is an IOWA export feature to help you secure some of the fields needed for the supplemental coding items. On the Start Page of PowerSchool, users can click on the Iowa Test Export button (same place as it was before, just new text) and a popup will appear with check boxes for each grade at that school. It is preset to have K through 8 checked but can be changed to just specific grade levels desired. Once the user selects the grade levels they want and clicks on Submit, it will create the csv file. Please review this csv file and add this information into the attached IOWA Barcode spreadsheet with any additional information from the supplemental coding legend. When your school’s Barcode spreadsheet is ready, please send to Vireak Ath, OCS at vireak.ath@seattlearch.org . If you have a PowerSchool difficulty, please contact Steve Deibert directly at helpdesk@archseapsc.org Thank you!
If your school is not in the PowerSchool Consortium, you can populate the IOWA Barcode spreadsheet attached and send directly to Vireak Ath, OCS at vireak.ath@seattlearch.org by Friday, August 19.
