Accommodations for the MAP Assessment

The Archdiocese of Seattle Office for Catholic Schools recommends that we follow the broad guide-lines stated in the NWEA information regarding accommodations: “The adaptive nature of the MAP assessments makes it appropriate for students with a wide range of skills and needs.”

• Use the “MAP Accommodations Guidelines” document to identify the standard accommodation types and appropriate uses.
• Use the “Accommodations Checklist” to keep track of the student(s), the grade levels, and the type.
• If non-standard accommodations are given, they should follow an agreed upon plan as in an IEP, ISP, 504, student learning plan. Parent permission should be given for any non-standard accommodation.
