Arts Opportunities for Students and Teachers at Centrum
Centrum, located in Port Townsend and in partnership with OSPI, gathers young artists, scientists and teachers together. Artists working in the fields of visual art, writing, theater, movement and music will provide young artist opportunities to learn new ways of thinking, seeing and being. Opportunities in 2017 include:

Poetry Out Loud - 2016-17 School Registration is now open
Any school serving students in grades 9-12 may register to participate in the Washington State Poetry Out Loud program. Washington State Arts Commission (ArtsWA) joins other state arts agencies in partnering with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation to support Poetry Out Loud, a poetry recitation competition that encourages the nation's youth to learn about great poetry through memorization and performance. Exploring Latino Art: Integration Through Art-Infused Connections
This ten-hour workshop is designed for the generalist teacher and explores the spiritual and cultural complexity of Latin American art forms and guides teachers through projects that help students learn basic art skills used in making this diverse cultural art.
