Catholic High School DL Liaison Meeting - November 17

Dear Catholic High School DL Liaisons,

The Diversified Learners Executive Committee has been wanting to organize a gathering of the Catholic high school personnel who support and oversee programs serving our students with academically diverse needs.

Thursday, Nov. 17th from 11 – 1:30 p.m.
St. James Pastoral Care Outreach Center

Parking available at P - 1 underground lot in the 910 Marion Building. If you P - 1 is full, please try Cabrini Towers and we can provide parking validation.

11:00 AM Welcome, Prayer and Kudos!
Allow time for introductions/sharing.
How have you been called to serve at your Catholic high school?
What is your role at your high school?

11:15 – Noon – Diversified Learners Committee Update: 2016 -2017 DL priorities. (Share OCS Strategic Plan journey, DL Guidebook and Glossary, online DL resources, other)

Noon - 12:30 Lunch

12:30 – 1:00 PM High School DL Networking: Round table discussion to share and provide feedback in the areas of: hiring for mission, state of the school culture in response to serving all learners, creating wrap around services, specific programs offered at the high school, on-going PD and training, successful way to support teachers, developing student support plans, sharing common templates and forms, shared personnel – specialists, other. What do you need/wish/hope and/or pray for in your role?

1:00 - 1:30 PM Brainstorming: What are we seeing from a PreK - 8 DL perspective? What are you seeing from a 9 -12 perspective?
Goal: How could we to grow into a cohesive and on-going 7^th - 8^th DL articulation with our Catholic high schools? What is needed? How could we get there? (SWOT) Next steps? How can the Diversified Learners Committee help?
