Save-the-Date Catholic Cornerstone Conference
Mission StatementThe Bishops of Washington State sponsor Cornerstone Conferences to inspire and educate Catholics and others to continue working together to protect human life: the unborn, individuals who live in poverty or on the margins of society, and people at the end of life.
The next Cornerstone Catholic Conference will be October 20-21, 2017, in Tacoma. Bishop Robert Barron (auxiliary bishop of Los Angeles and host of the Catholicism series), Helen Alvaré (former Director of Planning and Information, USCCB Secretariat for Pro‐Life Activities and founder of Women Speak for Themselves), and Ralph McCloud (Director of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development) will be the keynote speakers, along with the Bishops of Washington State.
WSCC has developed two save-the-date flyers, one in color and the other in grayscale. These can be shared electronically and downloaded to print. Please use them to let others know about this exciting event – perhaps ask your parish to insert them into a Sunday bulletin.
The first Cornerstone Catholic Conference took place in October 2014, and was a great success. The conference was attended by over 800 people from all across Washington State. The audio portion of the following presentations can be accessed by clicking on the following links: Archbishop Sartain's Cornerstone talk. Bishop Tyson's Cornerstone talk.
For more information, visit the Cornerstone Catholic website. The purpose of this notification is to make people aware of the dates of this major conference. Registration won’t open for several more months – at that time, we will ask your help again in promoting the 2017 Cornerstone. In addition, I have begun giving presentations about Cornerstone to the Deaneries.
