• An Immigration Summit at Seattle University on Feb. 11 and more!

    Greetings Fellow Ministers in Christ,

The Criminal Justice Ministry and the newly created Immigrant & Refugee Ministry are both ministries of the Office of Pastoral Care and Outreach at the Archdiocese of Seattle.

Here are the direct links to:

Periodically we will update you on initiatives such as the following:

Catholics Called to Accompaniment: An Immigration Summit (Saturday, February 11th at Seattle University, 9 AM – 4 PM)– In a time of uncertainty and fear for our local immigrant community, join with other Catholic parishioners to learn about the issues at hand and our Catholic call to respond. Network with others and develop concrete plans of support for our immigrant & refugee brothers and sisters. More information can be found in the flyer HERE. Sponsored by SU Institute for Catholic Thought and Culture, St. James Immigrant Assistance Office and the Archdiocese of Seattle, Pastoral Care and Outreach Office. Registration is free: https://goo.gl/forms/5WYrnaR9562InoIn2

Immigrant & Refugee Resources – Are you looking for resources to support our immigrant & refugee community members? Our new ministry can keep you apprised of several resources and events such as: Bishop’s Letter in ENGLISH and SPANISH, USCCB Action Suggestions, Seattle United for Immigrant and Refugee Families in ENGLISH and SPANISH, Seeking Refuge: Forced to Flee, a refugee camp simulation.

Restorative Justice Peacemaking Circles - Did you know that King County Juvenile Court is currently piloting Peacemaking Circles as an alternative and community-based way to resolve some of its juvenile felony cases? This reduces incarceration, fosters healing for both victims and offenders, and affords a profound opportunity for transformation. This is the Gospel in action and it is unfolding right here in our own backyard. Our Church is actively involved! Find out how your parish can participate. An initial information event for churches will be held on Wednesday, January 25th at 6:30 PM.

One Parish; One Prisoner – Would your parish community be interested in providing wrap around support to a prison inmate both before and after their release? We can provide training and support in cooperation with the Department of Corrections. Guaranteed to transform your parish community.

Thank you for your ministry efforts! It is a joy to serve alongside you. God bless.
