Suicide Prevention: UW's Forefront Program has a significant suicide prevention program. All research-based, and great information. Just a reminder that it is now required in WA that every single educator employed in a public school has completed six hours of a state-approved suicide prevention training. Although not required for private schools, it may be very helpful to have at least one employee on staff who has participated in suicide prevention training. http://www.intheforefront.org/
Mental Health/ Depression: Cinda Johnson is a national expert on child/teenage mental health. She was a professor at UW, and is now a professor at SU. She is an amazing speaker, and brings her first-hand experience with a daughter with bipolar disorder, as well as her years of experience in special ed. https://www.seattleu.edu/education/about/faculty-and-staff/cinda-johnson-edd.html
Anxiety: A local choice would be Dr. Christopher McCurry, clinical psychologist, who is a local anxiety expert. He contracts with ABCD, Lehman Learning, and has done pieces with Parent Map. He exclusively works with anxiety and he's obviously very knowledgeable. http://chrismccurrychildpsychologist.com/
