    Dear Principals,

12 GARDENS OF STEWARDSHIP: I would personally like to thank Jackie Kerrigan, Scott Bader, and Rick Fersch from the Office of Parish Stewardship for their incredible investment into the “12 Gardens of Stewardship” professional development thrust this year creating excellent K - 8 instructional resources for our students, parents, teachers, and principals/pastors. As we continue to look at ways to uplift the call to Stewardship for our school communities, we have created an online survey as a way for our school leadership to share feedback about which instructional resources were helpful and integrated in the classroom curriculum. Please click on this link to respond to the survey:

Please kindly note: The CSD will also be sending this 12 Gardens of Stewardship” survey later this week directly to the K - 8 teachers using the teacher emails from AppliTrack to ask for their collective feedback. This will assist the Office of Parish Stewardship and the CSD in future planning. Thank you!

FRIENDLY EXCHANGE: A Cultural Family Program: I had the privilege of meeting Laura M. Fox, the Executive Director, of Friendly Exchange Program of Washington State. This is a family centered organization with its mission to provide families and students with a opportunity to understand cultures and lifestyles different than their own. Students, ages 11 -17, travel from Guatemala each October for a two month hosting period through mid- December (this is summer vacation time in Guatemala). Visiting students attend school with the hosting child on an audit basis and participate in the fall activities of the host family. Students from Guatemala are sponsored by their parents or through scholarships: they arrive with a round-trip airline ticket, medical and liability insurance and personal spending money. About six of our schools have already participated in the program and Ms. Fox is now available to assist interested schools/host families with a possible placement for October 2010. For additional inquiry info please contact Laura Fox at wecrossborders@hotmail.comor study the website at: http://www.friendlyexchangewa.com/index.html

APPLITRACK PORTFOLIOS CONTINUE TO GROW! As of today: 1489 principals and teachers are fully enrolled in AppliTrack/ePortfolio. Please remind your certified and non-certified staff who might be terminating or transferring
from your school this June to update their ePortfolios as they move on through their educational journey. Thank you!

    Respectfully submitted,
    Sandra Barton Smith

      Dear Sandra:
I have received a reminder about the calendar from Archbishop along with me username and password. Unfortunately, Archbishop Murphy is not listed in the electronic database. This may be because we are a Category II school. Therefore, I am send a hard copy of our calendar to your attention and hope that it gets to the right person. Thank you for your patience.
